Clients were concerned about the deterioration of their balconies and appointed BCB to undertake inspections and carry out structural analysis of the balconies so they had some firm quantative data with which to plan the refurbishment project. BCB were retained to provide design options, obtain Planning and Building Regulation approval before handling the full Contract Administration process right through to completion of the balcony refurbishment. By retaining BCB as Contract Administrators, they were able to ensure the works were completed to budget, using the specified products and methods – see our information under Project and Contract Management for more details.
Each balcony was individually inspected, photographic evidence recorded and corrosion readings analysed for the condition report. The client committee with their Managing Agents then had the necessary information to formulate plans and budget accordingly for the project ahead.
